NorthShore and Color deliver clinical genomics in routine care to 10,000 patients in largest U.S. program to date
A year after Color and NorthShore announced their partnership to integrate clinical genomics into routine primary care, the two organizations have completed the largest U.S. program to date.
The program, known as DNA-10K, has met its goals of enrolling 10,000 participants and providing every patient with actionable clinical genomic results, including risks for cancer, heart disease and how genes impact responses to medication. Patients’ clinical genomic results are incorporated into their EHRs electronic medical records (EMRs) where real-time alerts allow providers to leverage genomic insights at the frontlines of care for long-term actionability and enhanced decision making by physicians and providers at NorthShore. New Survey Results: Patients At Risk for Diabetes Miss Crucial Screenings
Traditional diabetes screenings in clinic are failing to identify a significant number of patients at risk for developing the disease, according to a data analysis conducted by Color.
Color’s analysis of their user health surveys — standard for anyone who has taken a Color test — found that 13% of patients currently at risk for diabetes who had a routine check-up in the last three years had not been screened in clinic for the condition. Color discovered this overlooked population through its unique digital platform, which incorporates genomic information seamlessly into everyday care and applies population health tools to precision genomics.
