AI for Cancer Care:
Changing Care by Expanding Expertise
At Color, we believe AI’s biggest impact will be helping patients get better care. And we’re building new uses of AI that make cancer expertise and essential health services available to anyone, helping patients get the best possible care, faster.
With AI, Color helps everyone lead the healthiest lives science and medicine allow.

Changing how women get screened for breast cancer.
People don’t arrive at screening with the same history—or the same feelings. Color and Google Cloud have partnered to change how women take action on breast cancer screening. The Color Assistant is an AI agent that listens in plain language to a woman’s needs, history, and attitudes towards breast cancer screening. It assesses their breast cancer screening needs for Color’s clinical team to evaluate, order screening in accordance with national guidelines, and help women with next steps following their screening.
The result is a smarter, shorter, meet-you-where-you-are path to mammography—one that helps more women move from “Am I due?” to “I’m scheduled” quickly and confidently.

Speeding time to cancer treatment—when every day matters.
Speed to treatment following diagnosis is critically important. Every month delay in treatment for a cancer patient can increase the risk of mortality by up to 13%.1
Color’s Cancer Copilot, built with OpenAI, combines the power of large language models (LLMs), knowledge bases built on cancer guidelines, and a well-designed interface to help oncologists and other clinicians identify and order workup needs for recently diagnosed patients – helping patients get to the needed tests and imaging faster, and to starting their cancer treatment as quickly as possible.
Reducing a 2-hour clinical task to 10 minutes, with >95% validated accuracy
Clinicians in the loop at every step – while expanding their ability to help those most in need.
Where speed matters in cancer care, so does accuracy and expertise. At Color, our AI initiatives are built to inform patient care directly – which means our clinicians drive all decision-making. AI helps them scale to serve more patients, broaden their expertise in and beyond their core domain field, and consider the holistic needs of patients in their decisions.
With a track record of changing cancer care through technology, we are building out new paradigms of AI in clinical care –
to save more lives by making care and expertise abundant and accessible.
